Furniture Refinishing
Before
There is a growing trend of updating quality furniture from the era of whitewashed finishes, like this bedframe, to warmer, more dramatic natural wood finishes.
After
This transformation showcases the dramatic improvement in the warmth and character of the entire room, making it more inviting and visually appealing.
Before
This old dresser was handed down from a loved family member, but didn't fit in with existing furnishings. Also, being around 40 years old and sitting in the garage for years, it was in bad shape, with loose joints, broken drawer glides, broken feet and loose molding. The owner decided to refinish it in white with a cherry top, use it as a TV stand, and leave out 2 of the top drawers for component storage.
After
The white finish with a rich cherry top is stylish and modern. The drawer pulls, refinished in white and gold, complement the owner’s desired “beachy” theme, tying in beautifully with the wicker chair.
Before
Originally blonde oak, this serving buffet from a dining set was inherited by a young couple. Their ambitious attempt to refinish it to a darker color proved challenging for first-time DIYers.
After
This showcases the results of properly stripping bare wood, cleaning the grain, sealing, staining, re-sealing, applying a dark glaze, and hand-rubbing to a soft luster.
Before
This classic sideboard showed over 40 years of wear and tear. The top was scratched, stained, and had numerous dents and gouges. Additionally, the front and sides were covered with minor scratches.
After
The solution was to strip the top, remove scratches, fill dents, and refinish to match the original look. The front and sides were touched up, restoring the piece’s elegance within the customer’s budget.
Before
Part of a grandmother’s bedroom set, this nightstand was damaged when a husband’s good intentions went awry. He placed a vaporizer on it to aid his sick wife, but it leaked, ruining the top finish.
After
The top was stripped and sanded to remove all damage, exposing beautiful cherrywood. It was then colored to match the body. Light sanding and clear lacquer revived the piece.
Before
This glass-top coffee table, part of a set with a curio cabinet, is shown before my refinishing service. I refined its finish.
After
The customer felt the glass top was too contemporary for the new color, so I crafted a new top from matching oak with a slate tile center to achieve a more classic look.
Before
This shot shows the original blonde oak skirt and the overly dark stain applied by the owner, which completely concealed the wood grain.
After
The same procedure as that used on the serving buffet was used on the table and chairs (yet to be upholstered) to create a modern and elegant dining room set.
Before
This well-made furniture piece bought eight years ago, originally had a “pickled” whitewashed finish. The customer loved its design and quality but wanted a more traditional, warmer finish to match their taste.
After
This curio cabinet's finish was custom requested by the customer to match their newer furniture, ensuring a cohesive look throughout their updated living space.
